Comfort

A movingly touching poem by Babs Gons about the art of receiving and accepting what is there for you. An invitation I give regularly to clients and one that reminds me to practise this myself.

it is sometimes best

to the people who love you

to be taken at their word

when they tell you that you are beautiful

are as you are

land the words

like soft parachutes

in your heart

when they tell you that you are good

are as you are

the words

having your hard skin massaged

when they tell you they love

be upon you

putting the words in your kneecaps

and echo with every step

let their words soak your tongue

break down your walls

clench your fists

let their loving glances

let their warm arms

make them smile

being exactly that

it is sometimes best

to the people who love you

to be taken at their word

 from: it is sometimes the best/ do it anyway
